2015 Honda Fit:

The Honda Fit has proven that there is a wrong and a right way of putting together any package and indeed Fit’s has always been right. For the year 2015, that right way of Fit has revisited the market. The 2015 Honda Fit gets a new engine, new platform, new transmission and attractive new look. For the first time in history, the model depicts that aesthetics have been well kept under consideration in every manner.

The car looks bigger but in fact it is 1.6 inches shorter. Height of the vehicle is same and width is now 3.0 inch. The appearance of the car has been lent by overall alteration i.e. body to glass ratio. The part of the car that one can’t see through is taller while the car itself is not. This gives the Fit a substantial appearance. The weight of the car ranges about 2600 to 2700 pounds which is slightly more than the older model but still the overall look of the car is skinny.

Honda claims that it has used higher strength steel than before in this model of Fit. This simply means that though the weight of the car has been increased but still the car has been equipped with more strength and rigidity.

Though the car is small

It still offers 1.5 liters and that is about all that this new model shares with the older one. Engine has been adorned with the dual overhead cams and direct injection in addition to the 1.5packs variable timing control and i-VTEC’s dual profile cams. Earlier it has one lobestick and port injection. VTC offers the same what has been expected of its name i.e. it retards the cam timing at low rpm and advances it at higher speeds of engine. Undersides of the pistons are cooled down by oil jets and with crankshaft that has been lightened a claim 27% via 50% reduction in counterweights, from 8 to 4. 13 horsepower additional and 8 lb torque makes total 130 and 114 respectively. It all does not seem to offer a lot of sound but in fact it is offered by just a 1.5 liter. EPA estimated fuel economy ratios range from 29 miles per gallon within the city while 37 miles per gallon on the highway with CVT manual 33/41.

The transmission of the Honda Fit has also joined the modern era just like the engine of the car. It is a good thing for the manual buyers. This actually means long overdue with sixth gear. At the same time it means CVT for the automatic buyers.

But a lot can be done with a small car no doubt

Just step in and you will come across whole new interior features of the Honda Fit. Its wheelbase has been really changed. Rear seat room has been changed as well.  Rear axles and front spacing has been moved farther apart to about 1.2 inches. Also the rear suspension with short arms enable the Honda to move the rear seats farther back up to 4.8 inches from the front. This offers greater leg room for the passengers in all prospects.

The smaller cargo area is the real trade off. It has been dropped from 21 cubic feet to 17. But it is worth stating that this is still spacious as compared to any other affordable trunk of Sedan. Moreover a single lever drops the rear seat of the Honda Fit to create a flat load floor. Yet again smaller than its older model i.e. 53 cubes as compared to 57; the cargo hold of Honda’s Fit is still bigger than any of its competitors out there in the market. You just do not have to worry about where to park the vehicle as being smaller in size you can park it just anywhere, drive it through narrow lanes and roads without any fear. No doubt it is smaller, smarter, sleeker and attractive in every manner.

The exterior of the car is nicely self-possessed may be the designers were more inclined towards the interior of the vehicle.

The car is known to be one of the most attractive and sensible vehicle designed by the company. Fit looks like a scaled down minivan as compared to its older versions. Though the car always had a wedge shape but this one is with slight aggressive stance and side crease underscoring the beltline that is rising. This new shape of the car tappers both in width as well as height but as mentioned above the overall look of the car is still skinny and smart. Moreover this is the first model that is assembled in Mexico.

In nutshell the vehicle has everything in it that people of today’s world seek in a small yet efficient car for them at affordable price.
