Earlier it has one lobestick and port injection. VTC offers the same what has been expected of its name i.e. it retards the cam timing at low rpm and advances it at higher speeds of engine. Undersides of the pistons are cooled down by oil jets and with crankshaft that has been lightened a claim 27% via 50% reduction in counterweights, from 8 to 4. 13 horsepower additional and 8 lb torque makes total 130 and 114 respectively. It all does not seem to offer a lot of sound but in fact it is offered by just a 1.5 liter. EPA estimated fuel economy ratios range from 29 miles per gallon within the city while 37 miles per gallon on the highway with CVT manual 33/41.

The transmission of the Honda Fit has also joined the modern era just like the engine of the car. It is a good thing for the manual buyers. This actually means long overdue with sixth gear. At the same time it means CVT for the automatic buyers.

No doubt it is smaller, smarter, sleeker and attractive in every manner.
