2015 Mercedes Benz E-Class


What is new for the year 2015?
The Mercedes Benz 2015 E-Class lime up comes up with a new E400 style along with the V6 turbocharged engine. Other changes include minor shuffling of the equipment.

Introduction:
It is an admitted fact that Mercedes has put in an extra effort to build an E-class that is suitable for the people with different tastes. In case you are looking for a midsize luxury vehicle, that should be fuel efficient diesel sedan with V6 powered turbo engine and that is convertible then there must be E-Class to meet all your needs and requirements.

The diesel E-Class is known to offer estimated EPA to be 33 miles per gallon combined and yet it reaches to 60 miles per hour in 7.6 seconds only. Ever since its debut back in 2010, this generation of Mercedes has been one of the most attractive class for the people in every sense and manner. In years 2015, the E-class comes up with a new engine option. The new E400 sport is turbocharged with an engine that is 3.0-liter V6 offering 329 hp.

Body styles, trim levels, and options:
The 2015 Mercedes Benz E-Class is available in a number of trims i.e. midsize sedan, convertible, or wagon.

Each style of body comes in various trim levels corresponding to the engine i.e. diesel E250 Bluetec (sedan only), gas electric E400 hybrid (sedan only), V8 E550 (coupe as well as convertible), V6 E350 (wagon and sedan), turbocharged V6 E400 (all about wagon) and turbocharged V8 powered E63 AMG (sedan and wagon only).


Luxury and sport cars are the two basic types of four doors i.e. the E250, E350 AND E400.
Luxury model comes with a traditional grille with a separate hood ornament and 17-inch wheels. On the other hand, the Sport model offers 18 inch wheels with a two bar grille along with a sport tuned suspension and an integrated three pointed star. In place of four spoken design of Luxury, the Sport has a three-spoke steering wheel.

Standard features:
Standard features offered by both the sport and the luxury include:

·         a sunroof
·         dual-zone automatic climate control
·         a center-mounted analog clock
·         14-way power front seats with memory functions
·         MB-Tex simulated leather upholstery

·         an eight-speaker sound system with a six-CD changer

E350 Wagon:
The features offered by E350 Wagon include the following:

·         power lift-gate
·         a rearview camera
·         a rear-facing third-row seat.

E400 Hybrid (Sport model):
Along with the features offered by E350, the E400 sports includes the keyless entry and ignition, leather seating and both the lane tracking as well as premium 1 packages.

Premium Package 1:
For the E-Class there is an array of packages available.

Premium 1 Package:
This package includes the following features:

·         a rearview camera (standard on the wagon)
·         power-folding mirrors
·         split-folding rear seats (sedan)
·         COMAND with navigation
·         satellite radio
·         a 14-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound audio system
·         a power rear window sunshade
·         active ventilated front seats for the E550 sedan and heated front seats for the other sedans

The lighting package:
This package offers the following features:

·         adaptive LED headlights and automatic high-beam headlight control
·         the Parking Assist package adds a surround-view camera system with front and rear parking sensors along with an automated parallel-parking system
·         The Keyless Go package tacks on keyless entry and ignition
·         a power trunk lid (sedan only; wagon has a standard power lift-gate)
·         for the sedan and wagon
·         a hands-free feature that either opens or closes the trunk or lift-gate when you wave your foot under the rear bumper

Performance and power-trains:
The 2015 Mercedes Benz E-Class lineup is in the market with all wheel drive or rear. The E550 convertible/coupe as well as the E400 hybrid is rear wheel drive only. On the other hand, both the AMG trims and wagons are 4Matic only.

Every E-Class has a seven speed automatic transmission except for the E63. The E63 automatic has seven speeds too but it instead of a torque converter to enhance the response and control it makes use of the clutch pack. All the cars have function of automatic stop-start that turns off the engine to conserve the fuel whenever the car stops. Moreover, both the transmissions come with the shift paddles that are there on the steering wheel.

Safety:
The E-class comes with the standard safety features such as:

  • Antilock disc brakes
  • stability control
  • a driver drowsiness monitor, front and front-side airbags
  • front pelvic airbags
  • side curtain airbags
  • a driver knee airbag
